Why isn't Kareem Abdul Jabbar recognized as being the most unstoppable Scorer this game has ever seen?

I remember first watching Kareem play back in the mid 70s, that Sky Hook was automatic. He was also a very good passer. He won more MVPs than any player in History. He won 6 MVPs, and could have easily won more, but they wanted to share the wealth and gave the award to someone less deserving a few times. He still holds the record for most points scored during his career.
